The immigration reform bill, sponsored by U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) has sparked a lot of discussion around the country bring about the kind of national debate we have needed for a very long time. Recently, Americans for Tax Reform founder, Grover Norquist, testified before the Senate about the pending legislation and why immigration reform is needed. He opened his testimony with the statement, "People are an asset, not a liability."

This week, Norquist sat down with TexasGOPVote to expand on his thoughts on immigration reform, and I asked him about this comment and what it means in the context of immigration reform. Read more »
Election Day voting in Harris County is very stong in traditional Republican polling locations. This according to former Harris County Tax Man, Paul Bettencourt. In a conversation today Bettencourt said we could see voter turnout in strong Republican boxes as high as 80%. That said, this is not a time to sit back. While Hispanic voting boxes in Harris County are somewhat low at this point, other traditional Democrat polling locations
Most recently, I had a left wing writer in a series of exchanges accuse me of race-baiting, writing racist materials and pandering to racists. The reason? I wrote a piece making the case that Romney, even as a member of the 1%, was closer to many Americans than our President. As the Wall Street Journal James Taranto noted, “The truth is that Romney and Obama are both products of distinctively American subcultures--respectively, the Mormon Church and the academic left.
Yeah, I know it’s “Doonesbury.”
Garry Trudeau has always been a leftist, pro-abort (he “satirized” the movie “Silent Scream” in 1985) who has no problem flaunting the power of his cartoon, Doonesbury. Two years ago, my good friend Richard Nadler passed away. Mr. Nadler was a genius who saw opportunities in expanding the conservative majority while implementing the plans to do just that. As President of Americas PAC, I owe more than a debt of gratitude, since Mr.Nadler not only founded Americas PAC, which I am President of, but also Americas Majority Foundation; two organizations designed to fulfill his vision. What made Nadler unique was his ability to understand his political opponents and their method of operations since he began his own career on the hard left.
This past week, I read Andrew Breitbart's book, Righteous Indignation, Excuse Me While I Save the World and saw much similarity between Mr. Nadler’s methods and Mr. Breitbart's. Breitbart grew up in a California that transformed itself
We all knew President Obama and Brad Pitt were related, but genealogy research shows that Obama shares blood with another well-known icon, although this one he may not be too happy about - Sarah Palin. Will Obama think twice about his demeaning remarks toward her now that they're family? Probably not. Read more »

During the day, I usually listen to a couple of radio talk show hosts. I remember the late 1980’s when Rush Limbaugh was growing into a national phenomenon. All of my life before, there had been no media representation of conservative thought, save William F. Buckley’s “Firing Line” a relatively academic idea exchange on PBS, to draw militant ideologues like myself. Read more »
