The election of the new Socialist President in France's recent election and the rejection of the two leading parties in Greece could prove to be a turning point for Europe. The French President, Hollande announced that,"The real enemy of the world is finance," while Communists and Neo Nazis have managed to obtain 15 to 17% of the voters in Greece, meaning the enemies of freedom are now significant players in the Greek parliament. For the French, the war on capital has begun.
Southern Europeans have decided that they will jump over the cliff into the abyss as politicians are no longer serious about getting their financial house in order as long as Germany is willing to keep financing them. Read more »
An exchange at the recent 2011 G20 summit between French President Nicolas Sarkozy and President Obama, captured on microphones the two thought were not yet turned on, offered the world a small window on their views of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
In this unintentional broadcast, Sarkozy labeled Netanyahu a “liar,” to which Obama replied,
Obama to Sarkozy on Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu: "You're fed up with him? I have to deal with him every day!"
Reporters were able to listen in on a conversation between Obama and French President Sarkozy that the two thought was private at last week's G20 Summit. During the conversation, Obama criticized Sarkozy for not having warned him that France would be voting in favor of the Palestinian membership bid in UNESCO, despite America's strong objection. Sarkozy declared of Israeli Prime Minister Ben Netanyahu, "I cannot stand him. He's a liar." Obama reportedly replied: "You're fed up with him? I have to deal with him every day."Read more »
After cold, wintery conditions greeted world leaders at the Copenhagen "global warming" summit last week, TexasGOPVote reported that Eurostar's "green" train was canceled indefinitely and apparently did not anticipate that such cold weather might ever occur again. Read more »

I have a french-manufactured double barreled shotgun I use for bird hunting. It's a beautiful shotgun, but I take some ribbing for it when people learn it is French-made. I usually offer my pat answer, "Yeah, made in France, never fired, and dropped only once."
Because if you can't bash the French, who can you bash?
Based on recent events, I may need to rethink that view.
