Former Highland Village Mayor Dianne Costa has officially announced her candidacy for Texas U.S. Congressional District 25. On July 27, 2011, Costa filed FEC Form 1 (Statement of Organization) which establishes her campaign committee with its requisite named treasurer, address etc. and FEC Form 2 (Statement of Candidacy) which designates her principal campaign committee. 

The newly redrawn District 25 encompasses all or portions of 13 counties (Hays, Travis, Burnet, Lampasas, Coryell, Bell, Hamilton, Bosque, Erath, Somervell, Hill, Johnson, and Tarrant).

The NRCC has reported that Obama’s EPA has been funneling money from the failed, so-called stimulus, which was intended to create jobs in America, to the Chinese government and other foreign groups for various environmental projects.

According to the Daily Caller:

China and other foreign interests have been significant beneficiaries of stimulus money through the Environmental Protection Agency, to the tune of some $27 million, since the law passed in February 2009.

Adryana Boyne, National Director of VOCES and VOCES Action political commentator, political consultant, and TexasGOPVote blogger, gave the keynote address at the San Antonio Tea Party's April 17th event held at Pedrotti's North Wind Ranch of San Antonio. George Rodriguez was sworn in as President of the San Antonio Tea Party during this event.

Before Adryana began her speech she recognized Mrs. Susana Statham, wife of US Army Major Marc Statham. Mrs. Statham recently became a US citizen. The audience stood and gave an ovation to Mrs. Statham.

Congress is going to have to decide soon whether and by how much to extend the debt ceiling. In an interview on Silvio Canto Jr.'s blogtalk radio show, Dianne Costa, candidate for U.S. Congress, discusses the issue of the debt ceiling as well as the proposal by the Republican Study Committee called Cut, Cap, and Balance. Dianne Costa is the former Mayor of Highland Village, a city in North Dallas, and is a small business owner. Currently she is the owner of CEMA (Counseling, Education and Mediation Associates) of North Texas, LLC.

Yesterday, in a move of uncharacteristic dexterity, the Texas Senate passed the TSA Anti-Groping Bill. The bill now is in the hands of our Texas House where I am confident it will be dispatched to the Governor for signing and a future court battle over Texans' right to travel without being molested and unreasonably searched.   Read more »

How many Hispanic legislators is too many? According to Rebecca Forest, 36. That is how many Hispanic Legislators currently hold office in Texas and the reason why passing an immigration law has been ineffective, according to Ms. Forest. Yet according to Dianne Costa, who is a Republican Candidate for U.S. Congress, and also happens to be Hispanic, it is language like that of Ms. Forest that is causing the Hispanic community to stay home and hidden, even if they possess the same values of the Republican Party. Comments like those of Ms. Forest demonize (for lack of a better word) the Republican Party and its members.

The Golden Corridor Republican Women recently hosted a brunch in which seven candidates running in the Republican Primary for U.S. Senate were given a chance to speak about why they are running and their individual platforms. The Senate candidates who attended, in the order of which they spoke, were Michael Williams, Elizabeth Ames Jones, Roger Williams, Andrew Castanuela, Tom Leppert, Lela Pittenger, and Ted Cruz. The event was held at the Historic Former Home of Clint Murchison, founder of the Dallas Cowboys. Tracy Hancock, Event Chair, Chris Davis, Program Chair, Susan Fletcher, President and the Golden Corridor Republican Women executive staff, advisory board and volunteers did an outstanding job with this event; it ran smoothly and was well-organized.   Read more »

Texas Legislators waited until after the Regular Session to release the new proposed Texas Congressional Map. Now we finally get to see it.

Governor Rick Perry will have to put it on the Special Session Agenda to be voted on by the Texas Legislature. Texas gets FOUR new Congressional Districts. Based on this proposed map, TWO of the new districts will go to the Democrats and TWO will go to Republicans. Does that seem fair considering that Republicans hold over 100 of the 150 State Representative Seats?
