South Texas Politics - Jessica Puente Bradshaw Robinson, et al... Is Her Name Even Valid on the CD34 Ballot?

Democrats could easily challenge her eligibility to be on the ballot - AND WIN!

Trust is an important thing for our elected officials to earn. It doesn't take much to destroy that trust. Remember when Bill Clinton was asked about a sexual relationship with Monica Lewinski? His answer included, "It depends on what your meaning of 'is' is..."

We currently have a Congress that is at a low point of public approval because of members believing the law does not apply to them.

South Texas Politics - Former Bee County GOP Chair Robert Bridge Talks With CD 34 Candidate Adela Garza

During my trip through South Texas this month to talk about the changing political scene, a couple of issues rose to the top. The first being energy. Energy is HUGE in this region of Texas. The entire economic engine has been completely restarted as a result of the success of the Eagle Ford Shale Project.  This can be easily illustrated by looking at the price of the motel we stayed in during our night in Beeville. The small independent roadside motel that would normally rent for $50-60 per night is suddenly renting for $140-160 per night, if you can even get a room.   Read more »

Who Really Represents YOU?

Dear Fellow Voters,

Early Voting has begun in Texas and will run through May 25, with Primary Day being May 29. We have a responsibility to be informed voters and choose the candidate who will best represent our values and interests. From following the 34th Congressional District Race, I have become increasingly weary of candidate Jessica Puente-Bradshaw, who campaigns as the "real conservative" but is up to her neck in DEBT and is beholden to special interests outside of our state. As a concerned citizen, I took the time to "follow the money" and found some interesting, yet disturbing, facts.   Read more »

Why Adela Garza is the Right Candidate to Represent Texas Congressional District 34

Adela Garza is a longtime resident of the Rio Grande Valley and a true servant to her community.

Having served on various school and community boards on a volunteer basis, it is clear she understands the uniqueness of the South Texas culture and has the experience and knowledge to represent our district in Washington. As a small business owner, she knows how to balance a budget and make tough cuts to spending.   Read more »

South Texas Politics - State Rep Jose Aliseda Endorses Adela Garza for US Congress District 34

State Rep Jose AlisedaAs part of exploring South Texas Politics, I had the opportunity to visit with outgoing District 43 Texas State Rep. Jose Aliseda in Beeville just before the Bee County Republican Round-Up. Aliseda is a great public servant. He has served the people of Bee County as County Attorney and County Judge. He has also served the people of Texas as a State Representative and a member of the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles. As he is running unopposed, he will also serve Bee County next year as the new District Attorney.

All this to say, it is no small thing that this servant of the people has endorsed Adela Garza in her race to be the first Congressional Representative for the newly created 34th Congressional District. In the video interview below,

South Texas Democrat District Attorney Armando Villalobos Indicted by Federal Grand Jury - Democrat Candidate for CD 34

Armando Villalobos indicted Democrat CD 34 candidateIn the past couple of weeks, I have been looking at politics in South Texas and the changing demographics as more and more people in the Rio Grande Valley have been moving away from the Democrat party to the Republican Party. This is partially because of the shift in values of the national Democrat party, but also because of the long-standing corruption of certain Democrats in this region.

This was again illustrated in today's indictment by a Federal Grand Jury of Cameron County District Attorney (and Democrat candidate for the newly formed Congressional District 34) Armando Villalobos for receiving bribes and other violations of Federal Racketeering Acts.   Read more »

Democrat Texas CD-34 Candidate and Cameron County DA Armando Villalobos Under Investigation for Racketeering

Cameron County deserves better than this!

In a press conference Monday morning, Armando Villalobos, Cameron County District Attorney and Democrat Candidate for Texas Congressional District 34, confirmed that he's under federal investigation regarding the Abel Limas corruption scandal. Abel Limas, a former Judge for the 404th State District, and nine others have been indicted in federal court for their roles in a cash for court favors scheme.

At this time, Villalobos maintains his innocence but cannot explain or refute the allegations.

Adela Garza, Republican Candidate for Texas CD-34, remarks: "Our officials and public servants have failed to represent us with
