Senator Marco Rubio has launched a new ad campaign to explain and gain support for his Conservative Immigration Reform program. The ad targets what we have been saying on TexasGOPVote for quite some time, de facto amnesty, strong border security and other strict rules on immigrants who are in this country either through illegal entry or visa overstays.
Current immigration policy and our refusal to deal with the related problems have, in fact, given

The Iron Lady: A hard nickname to bear, but, as the Bible says in Proverbs 27:17, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Young people need people to inspire them and sharpen them, as Margaret Thatcher did to me.
In May of 1979 in my birth country of Mexico, as a young articulated teenager, nearing the end of the 9th grade, and interested in learning how to debate, my teacher told me: “Adryana, a woman named Margaret Thatcher just became the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. You could learn very much about debating skills from her.” I remember going home, not being able to wait to sit in front of our color Sony Trinitron TV and watch Televisa “24 Horas with Jacobo Zabludovsky”. I still remember listening to Zabludovsky giving the news again, and I saw, for the first time, the face of that woman that my teacher had talked about.

In 1992, I was invited to go on a deep sea fishing trip off the coast of Mexico. We were to fly from Los Angeles to Guadalajara. Even though at the time one could travel to Mexico with just a driver license or birth certificate, I had a bit of a problem: having been born in Dublin, my birth certificate was written in Gaelic. I was advised to apply for a passport, just to be safe.
My parents had moved to America when I was three, willing participants in the diaspora of the Irish people seeking opportunity and a better life in America. They eventually became naturalized citizens. With their citizenship, my brother and I became citizens too…..or so I thought.
Obama Promise to Hispanics - You are Number 2 if I am Re-elected - How many times can he tell this lie?
President Obama told the Des Moines Register (where I always go to make my immigration announcements) that Immigration Reform is his biggest "long-term" priority for a second term. That really is a "long-term" priority since in 2008 he said it would be passed during his first year in office. President Obama is really starting to look like Lucy pulling the immigration reform football out from under Charlie Brown.
