What We Should Know About Education

The following article was sent in by Joshua McDaniel. McDaniel is a senior economics major from the University of North Texas and is serving as Chairman of the UNT College Republicans.

One of the biggest controversies of 2012 was the vast budget cuts in education spending in Wisconsin by Governor Scott Walker and the newly-elected cast of Republicans in the State Legislature. As the nation witnessed swarms of school teachers and their students storming the state capital, Governor Walker didn’t flinch.

Wisconsin Primary Results

NRCC - Cheeseheads are getting a lot of national attention these days and for good reason. Wisconsin is home to several outstanding leaders – one of whom will be our next Vice President. The Badger State has turned into a breeding ground for leaders who will stand up to special interests and Democrats who want to continue the same tax and spend policies that have driven our economic decline. The impressive recall election victory of Governor

What is at Stake? The Constitution!

This election may be a transformation election, beginning with the economy, but underneath the surface is the question: can we limit the power of government? Obamacare is but one case where economic freedom is at stake. The idea that a person could be forced to buy a product they don’t want or need because the government demands it is a misuse of the commerce clause.   Read more »

Wisconsin Strategy Nationwide

For the past year, I have talked of the Wisconsin Strategy which was simply the left attempting to make governing impossible for conservative governors. When Governor Scott Walker actually decided to fulfill his campaign promises to balance the budget, keep taxes in line and reform the public union's hold on the state purses, the Democratic left engaged in a strategy to prevent Walker from governing.

The (Second) Most Important Election in America in 2012

Last week a Wisconsin judge set May 8th, 2012, for Wisconsin’s recall election, which will decide whether to remove Republican Governor Scott Walker, along with the State’s GOP Lt. Governor and four GOP state senators, from office. That recall election, less than 8 weeks away, is viewed by many as a bellwether on the power of public unions to resist the efforts of government to rein in out-of-control collective bargaining contract obligations and expectations.   Read more »

When you argue/discuss policy with your friends, liberal or conservative, you have an ally in Texas if you are looking for solid facts.

Last week the Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF), the premier state-based free-market think tank in the nation, held their tenth annual Policy Orientation in Austin on January 12th and 13th. This sold-out event featured stellar and inspiring speakers, and mountains of information relating to the most pressing issues facing Texas and America.   Read more »

The Violence of the Occupiers

Big Hollywood's John Nolte has been a busy fellow, updating and trying to keep up with various acts of violence and other disgusting behavior among the Occupy movement, which is starting to peter out. Most recently, one letter to the Hollywood Republican wrote about what a bunch of peaceful folks the LA occupiers were and what kind of fools we were to be opposed to such peaceful demonstration. (Just to make sure we got the point, he even capitalized PEACEFUL so we would understand his point; it was peaceful.)   Read more »

Progress report from the Americas Majority Foundation and Americas PAC

This is a progress report on our work this year. We raised enough money for a non-partisan ad campaign among Hispanics in Nevada, extolling free market and conservative ideas. Our goal is to run ads a week before the Nevada caucus along with ads throughout the year. We are still looking for money for a hard core partisan ad campaign in Wisconsin and Nevada. So far this year, we have done campaigns in California during the 36th Sistrict special election, ordered non partisan ads in Wisconsin through July 2012, and now are doing them Nevada.   Read more »

Herman Cain Hit Piece and a Warning to the GOP

Let's be blunt, the Democrats and the left play by another set of rules. The recent hit piece on Cain is but another example of high tech lynching of a Black man who dares to be a serious conservative and as Glen Reynolds of Instapundit observed: “Would Jonathan Martin, Maggie Haberman, Anna Palmer and Kenneth Vogel have put their names on a similar piece, with no named sources, aimed at Barack Obama? Would Politico have run it? I think we know the answer.”

Union Boss Says Businesses Are Intentionally not Hiring so that Obama will Lose Re-Election

Given the cozy relationship that Unions have with Obama and the Democrats, it is no surprise that unions are currently protecting their Democrat buddies from backlash over the bad economy. Unions are viciously and openly
