Texas Patriots PAC recommends Brandon Creighton for Senate District 4

(The Woodlands, Texas) In the Senate District 4 special election runoff, the Texas Patriots PAC recommends Brandon Creighton. In the special election that was held on May 10th, we had recommended Creighton and two other candidates, Steve Toth and Gordy Bunch. Only Representatives Toth and Creighton moved on to the Runoff. We have reevaluated each of these two candidate's path to victory given the results of the May 10 election. Our view is that while both Creighton and Toth are outstanding conservative candidates, Creighton has put himself into the best position to win the special election runoff through his efforts in the Primary. We believe he not only has the best opportunity to return his primary voters to the polls, but also has the potential to attract at least half the voters that supported Gordy Bunch. We believe this indicates a clear path to victory which is a requirement for our recommendation. Voters in Senate District 4 had several great candidates from which to choose and we regret that we will lose an exceptional conservative local public servant, for however short the time, after this runoff whatever the result.

The next legislative session presents conservatives with their best chance to advance the conservative agenda.

Using the momentum from his first election, President Obama passed much of his agenda during his first two years in office. He has not been legislatively effective since. If Dan Patrick becomes our next Lt. Governor, he will enter office with significant momentum. His position will be the key position in the Legislature. Texas conservatives will have their best opportunity to implement much of the conservative agenda that has been blocked in Austin for years. It is critically important that the man we elect to complete the two plus years of this unfinished term be able to both lead and advocate conservative efforts to capitalize on this unique opportunity.

Brandon Creighton was not only the leader of the Republican Caucus in the Texas House but also is the more experienced legislator with significant legislative skills that he demonstrated in the Texas House. Creighton was vital in both the passage of tort reform and blocking the expansion of Medicaid/Obamacare in Texas. He creatively used House rules to keep conservative legislation from being killed by Democrats and moderate Republicans. He transformed the position of Republican Caucus Chair (in the last session) from a titular position into one that effectively countered bad legislation by coordinating with conservative legislators. He has served four terms in the Texas House, is a rancher, commercial real estate broker, attorney, and successful entrepreneur; age 44.
