Keystone Pipeline

The Keystone Pipeline System is an oil pipeline system in Canada and the United States, commissioned since 2010. Three phases of the project are in operation, and the fourth is awaiting U.S. government approval.

President Trump has signed an executive order to revive the Canadian Keystone XL pipeline. If Keystone does not go through, it is not as if Americans will stop buying oil to meet our energy needs. No, we will just buy it...
Today, the president vetoed the Keystone XL Pipeline. For the past six years Republicans have diligently worked to advance the Keystone Pipeline, which would create more than 40,000 American jobs, put our nation on the path...
The House of Representatives passed legislation to approve the Keystone XL Pipeline for the eleventh time. The Keystone Pipeline is widely supported by the American people because it is a critical infrastructure project that...
On Tuesday, I introduced three pro-growth, pro-jobs amendments to S. 1, the Keystone XL Pipeline Act, of which I am a cosponsor. The amendments would expedite liquid natural gas (LNG) exports to World Trade Organization (WTO...
The president is out of excuses and out of touch with the American people in his opposition to the Keystone XL pipeline. After six long years of thorough review – including hearings held by the House Science Committee – we...
I made the following remarks today in response to President Barack Obama’s promise to veto a bill with bipartisan support that would authorize construction of the Keystone XL pipeline.
The recent Senate vote on Keystone was the Democrats' way of sticking to one of their own, Mary Landrieu. In a desperate move to save Mary Landrieu’s career and pull out what now appears an insurmountable lead by her...
While the House of Representatives has worked tirelessly to advance the Keystone XL Pipeline over the last four years, President Obama and Senate Democrats have imposed unnecessary burdens and roadblocks at every turn that...
After the House approved it today, the president is the only one standing in the way of the Keystone XL pipeline and 40,000 new energy jobs. After six long years of thorough review – including hearings held by the House...
More than a decade since I first arrived in the United States Senate, the chamber has become unrecognizable. What had traditionally been a forum for thoughtful debate of principled ideas has gradually devolved into a venue...
The president’s decision to reject the Keystone XL pipeline is a win for environmental extremists, but a loss for Americans. Years of independent analysis have clearly shown the project would not exacerbate carbon pollution...
It’s been six years since the application to build the Keystone XL Pipeline was first submitted to the U.S. State Department. I have said time and time again that building the Keystone XL Pipeline is not only about jobs, but...
It’s ironic in a lot of ways because the President came to the people's House to give his State of the Union speech. That's the House of Representatives. But his speech was anything but ‘for the people.’
On Tuesday, the 114th Congress officially convened, and I was honored to be sworn in for the new session. With Republican control of the House and Senate, we have an important opportunity to stop the Executive’s disastrous,...
Today, I joined my colleagues in the House to once again support construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline. President Obama cannot continue to put politics ahead of American jobs and energy security. This is an opportunity we...
In the 114th Congress, House Republicans have the largest majority that we’ve seen in the last 65 years, and Harry Reid’s rule in the Senate has come to an end.
I’m excited at the prospects for the next two years. The recent election has brought about a historic change in Washington, increasing our Republican majority in the House and creating a new Republican majority in the Senate...
The Keystone Pipeline project has sat awaiting approval for six years. It took less time to win World War II than it has for the Administration to approve the pipeline. The pipeline from Canada to Southeast Texas would bring...
Here’s something you won’t hear about on the news: right now, there are 387 House-passed bills stuck in the Senate. These bills, many with broad bipartisan support, contain the policy changes needed to jump-start the...
Right now, our country is in the middle of an unprecedented energy boom—since 2008, domestic oil production has risen by more than 66 percent. Technological advances and new discoveries have made American energy independence...
