Voice of the Conservative Vote: Joe Pelati

Joe Pelati is from a small town in Central Illinois.  He went to graduate school at Indiana University (Ph.D. in Chemistry) where he also got married (Dr. Leslie May for 25 years) and landed his first job with Dow Chemical in Lake Jackson, Texas. After 13 years there, company transfers took me him Charleston, WV and Midland, MI for five years. He happily returned to Houston in 2006.

In 2009 after becoming frustrated with the continual government overspending and power grabs, Pelati became involved with the Tea Party Movement as part of the Houston Tea Party Society.  He also became a Republican Precinct Chairman. He later became the president of the group formed from a collection of area Tea Party leaders that came together to put on the Saddle Up Texas Straw Poll event held Jan 12-14, 2012 at Minute Maid Park. Currently the same group has launched a newsletter, the Saddle Up Spotlight, that covers the Greater Houston Area Tea Party activities. Pelati is the editor-in-chief of the publication.

“In 2012, this country is at a crossroads. It’s time to take a stand and get active if you want to be a citizen of a constitutionally-limited republic and not a subject of an all-powerful central government.”
