Voter Information
Not sure if you're registered to vote? Check your voter registration status here. If you find that you are not registered, fill out an online voter registration application here or fill out a voter registration application at your local registrar's office. Find the location of your registrar's office here. The deadline to register and be eligible to vote in the March 2, 2010 Primary Election is February 1, 2010. If your voter registration is accepted by the registrar, your voter registration will become effective 30 days after it was submitted, and your voter certificate will be mailed to you. New certificates are mailed out every two years. If you have lost your certificate, you may still vote by providing a form of identification and signing an affidavit at the polls. If you have moved to a new Texas county within the past year, you will need to re-register to vote, but if you have missed the deadline to register, you may return to your old precinct to vote. Find more information about the special procedures for voters who have recently moved here. Military and overseas voters are welcome to use the regular registration and early voting by mail process available to all voters away from their home county on Election Day. However, there are special provisions for military and overseas voters. Voting Day: Early voting for the 2010 Primary Election begins on February 16, 2010 and ends on February 26, 2010. Election day is March 2, 2010. You may go to any voting location that is convenient, as long as it is in your county of registration. You may want to contact the Early Voting Clerk for State and County Elections in your county if you need information about where to vote. You can also find more specific information on your county website. Note that the polling places will be listed by political party since on election date in many counties the parties do not conduct joint elections.
