And The Run Off Winners Are ....Ted Cruz And Dr. Donna Campbell!

Ted Cruz, the Tea Party favorite, easily breezed by Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst. The US Senatorial race was called about 2 hours after the polls closed. Cruz got 56.8% and Dewhurst got 43.2% of the vote. Apparently all the trash talk coming from Dewhurst’s camp did not stop the Texas voters from casting their ballot for Cruz.

Cruz’s campaign has set a new milestone using Social Media to advance his movement. By using Facebook, twitter, email and blogs, he came out of obscurity to the limelight. I am proud to say that I enjoyed very much being one of his bloggers and Tweetted in his behalf. I was part of this history making event! The Republican Club of Comal County had a Candidates Run Off Forum on July 24th and I spoke for 10 minutes as Ted Cruz’s surrogate. I felt privileged to be given this opportunity.

Winner of the Senate District 25 Run Off Race – Dr Donna Campbell

In a room full of supporters in New Braunfels, Texas Dr. Donna Campbell introduced her family and thanked those closest to her campaign. Only 90 minutes after the polling places closed the Associated Press called the race in Dr. Campbell’s favor.  Dr. Campbell had 70.8% to Wentworth’s 29.2%. I would say that Dr. Campbell soundly whipped Senator Jeff Wentworth!

Attorney General Greg Abbott, Pastor John Hagee, and Elizabeth Ames Jones called to congratulate Dr. Campbell. According to an advisor close to Dr. Campbell, Wentworth placed a late call to acknowledge his loss and to congratulate her. He was ‘gracious’ in praising her.

CONGRATULATIONS to Bruce Boyer for his win in the 22nd District Court as our next District Judge. His district covers Comal, Hays and Caldwell. Thank you, David Glickler for your passion and efforts in this race.

CONGRATULATIONS to Roger Williams for winning the Congressional District 25 race. Thanks to Wes Riddle for his valiant effort in the race.

CONGRATULATIONS to Justice David Medina for running a Supreme Court race worthy of a Texas Supreme Court Justice. Texas will forever be indebted to you for your faithful service. To our detriment Justice Medina will enter the private sector in January 2013. Thanks to all those who supported Justice Medina in his bid for reelection.
