CODE RED Rally: Weekend Vote, Kill the Bill

The RNCC “Code Red” website reports there are 205 of the necessary 216 NO votes needed to stop the health care bill.

Approximately 2,000 protesters dropped work and other responsibilities to answer the call Tuesday in Washington D.C. and protest any form of the proposed national health care legislation.

Democrat leaders, such as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) have created and are defending a legislative “tyranny” which is breath-taking in its audacity and illegality. The Congress is running amok as no time in history.

In simple terms, what is proposed is an unconstitutional attempt by House Democratic leaders to “deem” the Senate health care bill approved by the House without a vote and then send it to the President for signature. Ostensibly, a package of “fixes” will be voted on later, but it is widely believed there will not be any vote on “fixes” later, so items like the “Cornhusker kickback” to Nebraska, and federal funding of abortions will stay in the health care bill.

Constitutional lawyers and experts like conservative talk show host Mark Levin say what is being proposed is a subversion of our constitution. (Levin says Congresswoman Louise Slaughter (D-NY) should be expelled for her proposals to create “new rules” to pass the health care bill without taking a vote.) However, we could be in court for decades trying to prove or disprove the legal points, so it is imperative to KILL the BILL now.  Do not assume it can be “undone” or “fixed” later, assuming we take back the House in November. Assume nothing now. Kill the bill.

60 plus Chairman Jim Martin speaks to the “CODE RED” rally in Washington D.C. this morning.

Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) address the “CODE RED” rally.

Calls to make today (hat tip: Heather Gass, East Bay Tea Party Patriots)

Dear Fellow Tea Party Patriots,

We have just received a report from the floor of the House, from an extremely reliable source, that Democratic Majority Whip James Clyburn is reporting that four Democratic Congressmen that were no votes on the healthcare bill have now switched to a yes vote.

We need you to flood their offices with phone calls, faxes and if local, go by their offices. Especially target Rep. Altmire from Pennsylvannia.

This should be a sign that we need to continue to pound hard with phones calls, faxes and visits to all the targets. We need to keep the pressure up and not let up.
