U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) today cosponsored the Prevent Government Shutdowns Act of 2026, which would mandate automatic 14-day appropriations at the same rate as the previous fiscal year to prevent the shutdown of government services and operations that lack appropriations while Congress negotiates a spending agreement for the new fiscal year.
