Lord Monckton Waging Climategate War in Bonn

"Mother Earth" selling carbon indulgences in picture to the right. See Lord Monckton left at computer.

When last we heard from our intrepid Climate-gate knight, Lord Christoper Monckton (3d Viscount Monckton of Brenchley) was resting up from being “Copenhagened” in the noggin mistakenly (?) by a Danish police officer at the ill-fated, much-carbon-footprint-about-nothing U.N. climate summit.

The good Lord was kindly emailing moi and the American Thinker readers with good cheer at Christmastime that maybe the good guys were indeed winning the war against “global warming fraud.”

As we all know, there is still a lot of climate change “Koolaid” being drunk around the world. There was not to be much rest for Monckton after the holidays, as the next “battleground” against the Tower of Eco-Babel was to be Bonn, Germany. United Nations minions and countries wanting “climate reparations” are loathe to give up fighting for free stuff, don’t you know.

Lord Monckton has emailed from Bonn, scene of the mischief. And of course, he brought some of his own.

Mother Earth” was, in fact, hired by CFACT and Monckton to sell carbon credit “indulgences” (wrought in the image of the the “Gore-inator”) to conference-goers.

Here’s a note from Lord Monckton:

I write this from the hall at the UN’s emergency climate talks in Bonn. I’ve had a chance to speak with a large number of delegates. Several of them are still in the fantasy world of “global warming”.
The UN is still demoralized from its failure to reach a global warming treaty in Copenhagen, but is (as Admiral Yamamoto once put it) “filled with a terrible resolve”. Climategate was the first of a series of revelations about errors, omissions and evasions by the UN on climate. Yet most of the delegates here plan to do whatever is necessary to divert attention from the collapse of climate science, proclaim the sanctity of the UN’s now-discredited science documents, and railroad us all into a world government treaty that will be a blow to our freedom and prosperity. This treaty would end democracy worldwide and forever.
I’m in Bonn with CFACT. We landed the most prominent location at the conference for our display. It is right next to the entrance to the main hall, in such a good place that the Gender Equality Women’s Group complained to Yvo de Boer, the retiring secretary of the UN Convention, that we skeptics had been given a prominent booth when we should not have been given one at all. Mr. De Boer gently explained, to much shaking of heads among the Gender Equality crones, that all opinions were welcome. So CFACT has supplied delegates with carbon credits bearing Al Gore’s head, and carbon indulgences handed out by Christina Wilson dressed as the Tibetan Tsumu-Langma, or Goddess Mother Earth.
I’ve had the chance to speak to delegates in great detail. One sign of hope is the many delegates who tell me this is the first time they’ve been exposed to alternative views on climate. Their interest is genuine and their minds are opening. Unfortunately I don’t think the same level of openness exists in the back rooms where the real deals are being made. ”

News release on the activities thus far indicate Lord Monckton and the CFACT crew are having impact:

Bonn, Germany – Lord Christopher Monckton, recently dubbed a “famous contrarian” in Esquire Magazine, said in Bonn today, “The world’s governing class has not understood what the world’s working people have understood: that global warming caused by man is not happening and is not going to happen.”
Lord Monckton said, “The tactics of U.N. bureaucrats are dismally predictable. They want to reach agreement here in Bonn that will lead to a binding climate treaty whose real purpose would be to stamp out freedom and destroy democracy throughout the world. Nobody here in Bonn seriously imagines that this or any treaty brokered by a UN, which is still reeling from blows to its credibility from the Climategate scandal and revelations of errors in its reports, will ever make any difference to the climate that could be measured even by the most sensitive of instruments.”
Lord Monckton said, “The tactics of the global warming profiteers are clear. They are desperate to cajole, bully or bribe the UN’s member states into agreeing a treaty within weeks, because they know that the November midterm elections in the United States will return a Congress unfriendly to the notion that government of the people, by the people, and for the people should perish from the earth in the specious name of saving the planet from man-made effect on the climate that are negligible at worst.”
Lord Monckton added that even if the warming effect of the carbon dioxide that our industries emit was as bad as the UN and its fellow travelers pretended to be, trying to control global temperature by international treaty would be as spectacularly futile as the failed attempt of King Canute to command the sea not to rise.
“The United Nations”, Lord Monckton said, “is now in a panic born of desperation. They are terrified, and rightly so, of the United States Constitution, which protects not only citizens of that great nation, but also the rest of the world from the plans of the global ruling class to bring liberty, democracy, and prosperity forever to an end.”
The Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow, a UN accredited NGO whose delegation to the UN Conference in Bonn Lord Monckton is leading, has long campaigned for a more scientifically-based, reasoned understanding of environmental issues in today’s public debate. At the conference, it will be hosting a trailblazing seminar in the German Environment Ministry on the use of the internet to provide ordinary people with fact and opinions that have received scant attention by much of the mainstream media.

Haven’t heard of any top level Obamanoids in Bonn or El-Goro…….keep ya posted.

Lord Monckton’s speech March 23, 2010 about global warming. It is remarkable that the person who leads the charge against cap-and-trade legislation in the U.S. and world-wide, is not even an American. We continue to owe Lord Monckton our gratitude.

Comments

I vote  for the UN holding even more of these Climate Crisis Conference thingies ,  just for the pleasure of reading Christopher Monckton's  informative, entertaining and insightful accounts of them.

In fact the more of them they have the more they become a parody of themselves, as  Monckton justs so delights in highlighting for us..
