Dick Cheney Endorses Kay Bailey Hutchison for Governor

It was just announced that Former Vice President Dick Cheney will endorse Kay Bailey Hutchison in the 2010 Texas Governor's Race, making this her highest profile endorsement so far in her bid to unseat Governor Perry.

The battle for conservative credibility in the GOP race for governor just got interesting.

Former Vice President Dick Cheney, an outspoken critic of all things liberal, is supporting Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison in the gubernatorial primary against sitting Gov. Rick Perry.
Hutchison campaign aides confirmed the news, and added that Cheney will host a fundraiser for Hutchison next month in Houston.

Hopefully Cheney's endorsement will help confirm that Hutchison is in fact running for governor, as she has been leaving the public wondering lately, "will she or won't she?"

It is also questionable whether Cheney's endorsement will have a positive or negative effect on Hutchison's campaign. On one hand, Cheney left the office with a 19% approval rating, but on the other hand, he has been frequent in his attacks against the Obama Administration, which could help Hutchison score points with conservatives.

I would think the only good Cheney's support could have is to bring over some of the far right support. We are urging Independents and Dem's to cross over and vote for Kay Bailey Hutchsion in the primary. We urge all Latino action groups to rally their communities to vote for Hutchsion in the primary. Lets make history in the primary and send Perry packing. Then vote for the candidate of choice in the general election. Do we really want to put a guy back in that wants to build toll roads(for the North American Union), then sell them to foreign eneties, refuses government money for unempolyment compensation( show boating for the far right), then ask the government for money for other agendas and wants to secede from the union?

I'm so glad that we don't have to vote for the lesser of two evils in the TX Governor's race.  I believe the GOP establishment is trying to censor the voice of the 3rd candidate in the race, Debra Medina.  Her movement is growing rapidly here and as more people listen to what she has to offer, the more support she will raise to actually beat the two Goliaths in this race. 

Right now, KERA (Ch 13 to most) is trying their level best to keep Debra Medina from joining the televised debate with Kay Bailey Hutchinson and Rick Perry next month.  This station put out requirements that the candidates must meet in order to be invited and Debra Medina was told a few months ago that she met them all--yet suddenly they're dragging their feet in offering her an invite (see the Op Ed from talk show host Mark Davis in the Dallas Morning News 12/15/09).   People are not going to take this lying down. This CENSORSHIP of her message and her candidancy must end!  Every conservative voter in Texas needs to know that their IS another choice in the Governor's race...and her name is Debra Medina!
