Latino National Republican Coalition of Texas and Gov. Perry Inauguration

On January 18, 2011, the Latino National Republican Coalition of Texas (LNRC of Texas) attended the Inauguration of Governor Rick Perry and Lt. Governor David Dewhurst. We are proud of these two great Texans and public servants for their work in helping making Texas the greatest state in this nation. We look forward to their continued service and in working with them to effectively engage the Latino Community on a broad range of issues and endeavors.

The LNRC of Texas has made significant strides in its little over a year and half existence. We have established four strong chapters in major metropolitan areas of the state: El Paso, Houston, San Antonio, and North Texas. Over the course of the last year, LNRC has seen is highest volume of new memberships and followers and this year, we will see the chartering of two new chapters in the Rio Grande Valley! We have made significant inroads into our communities in providing educational courses to local neighborhoods, hosting local, state, and national candidates, serving in campaigns, participating in debates, hosting community improvement projects, and in representing Latinos to our state party! Our goal has been and continues to be to bridge the gap between the Republican Party and the Latino Community of our state by utilizing many of these same methods and resources that educate on conservative ideals and bring them into the fold. The work of our members has facilitated unprecedented growth and our State Executive Board has worked diligently to operate a young and vibrant organization.

During our visit to Austin, we had the pleasure of meeting with Richard Rios, National Chairman of the Latino National Republican Coalition. Chairman Rios traveled to Texas to meet with members of our Executive Board to congratulate the state chapter on its accomplishments and its continuing endeavors in engaging Latinos. Texas is the strongest chapter and we are thankful for the work Chairman Rios has undertaken in representing our national organization. It is because of our record of a commitment to conservative values, our hard work in engaging Latinos, and our planning, that Mr. Rios recognized the LNRC of Texas as the nation’s model chapter for this organization. In addressing a way forward, we are proud of what we have been able to do, mindful of the work that lies ahead, and expectant of the great things to come for the LNRC.
