Senator Thinks 2nd Amendment is NOT an ABSOLUTE RIGHT

Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy (D) has a grave misunderstanding of the 2nd Amendment and demonstrated his lack of knowledge recently in front of millions of Americans during a recent interview with Rachel Maddow.

Here’s an excerpt of Murphy’s argument:

“I mean, let’s look at the context of nullification. Nullification was last used by southern states to try to eviscerate Civil Rights legislation, to try to prevent states from basically enforcing desegregation — and I think history will look back on this round of nullification as kindly as it did on the last round.

It is laughable also because it is a total bastardization of the Second Amendment. The second amendment is not an absolute right, not a God-given right. It has always had conditions upon it like the First Amendment has.

“The idea that the Second Amendment was put in there in order to allow citizens to fight their government is insane. If that was the case, we wouldn’t have also included treason in the United States constitution. We basically said, ‘If you take arms up against the government, we’re going to knock your block off,’ and that’s what the early Presidents ended up doing in the rebellion and the whiskey rebellion. The Second Amendment is not designed to allow the citizenry to arm itself against the government, and nullification is another example of states not understanding the true nature of that amendment.”

You have to wonder where Murphy studied history, or perhaps he has selective memory. After all, in the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson said “these rights were endowed by our Creator.” The fact is, the right to bear arms was not given to the citizens of this country by the 2nd Amendment.

Rather, the 2nd Amendment was a mandate to the Government that the citizens already had this right and it “shall not be infringed”.. Our Founding Fathers did create the Second Amendment as a way for the citizens and states to defend themselves from the federal government, or at the very least protect them from it. Remember, our Founding Fathers had just finished a war against the British, an abusive government that threatened their way of living. Sound familiar? People like Chris Murphy are a threat to Liberty in America. They do not represent the mentality of a free, armed, America… but .. rather, a vulnerable, controlled, enslaved America.

Conservatives in that state need to do what is necessary to replace Murphy in the next election cycle if not before.

Gun owners of Connecticut need to deal with this Senator. Lead him to TRUTH of boot him out.

I believe all people who want to serve the citizens as elected representatives, BEFORE THEY ARE ALLOWED TO RUN,

  • Should have to take a class on the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights…
  • Pass a test demonstrating they understand it,
  • And pledge not to put forth or vote on any legislation that does not pass Constitutional muster. Just think… if that was the case, we would not have many of the laws enslaving the citizens that are currently on the books…. including over 20 thousand gun control laws and OBAMACARE.

To hell with Chris Murphy and all those that think as he does.  My right to self-defense IS a God given right no matter what he says.  No one demands that the rabbit not use his most efficient means of self-defense, running away.  No one demands that the rattlesnake must have his fangs or his rattle removed.  Every creature on this planet has the God given right to use the most efficient means available for defending itself.  This is truly a basic, no-nonsense, common belief for everyone, except Liberals.

"Not a God given right"? What, pray tell, would be a God given right, if not for the ability to speak your mind and defend yourself? Stand there and look stupid?

Treason? Don't confuse treason with sedition. Sedition is when you "fight" your Government. You can go to jail for that. Treason is when you "fight" the Constitution. You can be hung for that. Do the math. If you have to.

The supreme law of the land is the Constitution.
All Soldiers and public office holders all the way to the President swear to uphold and defend the Constitution. The Administration is a part of the Federal Government with duties and responsibilities to perform certain functions for "We the People". "We" are the sovereign in this nation. not the government or even a political idol.

Jury nullification? It's there for a reason. The 3rd box.
