Brian Terry Murder - Third Suspect Captured as Terry's Family Prepares to Gather at Brian Terry Foundation Benefit Dinner

A third suspect has been captured in Mexico in the case of the murder of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry. This arrest comes as Terrys family prepares to gather in Tucson, AZ at the 2nd Annual Brian Terry Foundation Benefit Dinner this upcoming weekend. I first told you about Terrys murder nearly three years ago - the day after he was killed while on a patrol in southern Arizona. His death has become the focal point of the Obama Administration scandal known as Fast & Furious.

One suspect was captured the night of the murder and has remained in U.S. Custody every since. A second suspect was taken into custody last year in Mexico but is still sitting in a Mexican jail awaiting the U.S. Justice Department to get off their collective behinds and extradite him to the U.S. I anticipate this third suspect will not be answering questions in the U.S. any time soon either.

I spoke with Kent Terry, brother of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, about the recent arrest. "I am very glad they have made an arrest," Kent said, "but I will be relieved when he is actually turned over to the U.S. for custody. I cannot get too excited about this until both of these suspects are in U.S. custody."

The original suspect was convicted in federal court but still awaits sentencing. "His sentencing date has been pushed back four times now," Kent explained. "It was supposed to be this Friday (Sep 27th) but now it has been moved to December 9th."

The Sep. 27th date would have been the day before the family gathers in Tucson for the Brian Terry Foundations benefit dinner, which I will be attending on Saturday. The dinner is held to raise money for the assisting U.S. Border Patrol agents and their families when the agent is injured or killed in the line of duty. It will be attended by many members of Terrys family along with Congressman Darrell Issa (Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee), CBS Reporter Sharyl Attkisson, who first broke the Brian Terry story on the national mainstream media, and many others who will be out to show support for the family and this worthy foundation. Katie Pavlich, author of the book "Fast & Furious" is expected to be the speaker for the evening.

Eric Holder has been held in Contempt of Congress for failing to provide information to the Houses investigation.

In a statement to Fox News this month, Chairman Issa said a ruling from Judge Amy Berman Jackson (an Obama appointee) who has been sitting on this decision for over a year now, may be released in the next three weeks. "The American people were lied to on national TV that no guns were allowed to be walked and they (the Justice Department) kept to that statement for 10 long months while the Terry family suffered questions over the loss of their son," said Issa. "Those who were involved in knowing that it was false, communicating that it was false and perpetuated that false statement need to be held accountable or at least exposed."

Because of the delays in this case, Judicial Watch has filed suit over the governments failure to produce documents in a FOIA request for documents related to settlement discussions between the Justice Department and the House Oversight Committee.

No one in the Federal Government has been held accountable for their actions which directly led to Brian Terrys murder. We owe it to his memory and to his family to make certain justice is done.
