Pete Sessions Statement on March Jobs Report

Today I released the following statement regarding the Department of Labor’s March jobs report:

While additional job creation is always welcome news, today’s report serves as a reminder that ObamaCare is holding back our economy from robust growth and making it more difficult for hardworking Americans to make ends meet. With 7.4 million Americans only working part-time and 2.6 million more at risk for having their hours and wages cut as a result of ObamaCare’s 30-hour work week rule, the Administration needs to focus on strengthening the economy and growing our workforce instead of continuing policies that threaten jobs.

House Republicans understand the need to protect American jobs, which is why we passed the Save American Workers Act this week. This legislation would restore the traditional 40-hour work week, put more money in the pockets of hardworking Americans, and give families the economic stability they need. I will continue to fight to fully repeal ObamaCare and promote common sense solutions that promote job creation and ensure North Texans have the economic opportunities they deserve.
