Weston Martinez For San Antonio District 9

The San Antonio City Council special election to fill conservative District 9 has begun with early voting from April 28 through May 6, 2014.  The actual voting day is scheduled from 7am to 7pm on Saturday, May 10.

San Antonio’s D9 race may very well be the last hope for San Antonio’s traditional residents. D9 had an ally in Elisa Chan who resigned to run for Senate District 25 and lost. In a unanimous voice by the San Antonio Council, Mayor Julian Castro appointed Joe Krier as temporary replacement until this month’s election. Krier who went in saying he would not run for the position reneged on his promise and is one of five candidates campaigning for the D9 seat. Krier, the appointee who claims to care about the people of San Antonio, voted FOR the abortion-inducing drugs for teenaged girls, proving once again that Mayor Castro found himself another puppet.

Under Mayor Castro, San Antonio has been transformed from a quiet conservative city to a morally deficient liberal town. The Non Discrimination Ordinance, Pre K, a city budget to fund same sex partner city benefits, and most recently a program to dispense abortion-inducing drugs for teenaged girls in an effort to control teen pregnancy are some of the issues that have brought this City Council in direct breach to the historical Christian values of the people in San Antonio.

Of the five candidates running for D9, Weston Martinez is the only candidate who has the ability to challenge the recklessness of the Mayor and council. Martinez is an ATT Corporate Design Engineer and was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the Texas State Real Estate Commission. Martinez, the father of five will support traditional family values, encourage job creation, lower taxes and regulations and does not believe that streetcars are in the best interest of San Antonio.

Michael Quinn Sullivan of Empower Texas has written two articles which will enlighten you on Krier. Remember Krier is the past SA Chamber of Commerce president, and where did that get San Antonio… deeper in debt! Krier has also finagled his very own private water district and with the streetcar issue breathing down on San Antonio taxpayers and Krier’s spending experience, residents shouldn't doubt where this is heading.

San Antonio deserves some speed bumps to stop the spending because at the rate the city council is going, how soon before bankruptcy appears in its future? Please ask your friends and family in SA D9 to do the right thing and support Weston Martinez, the fiscal and social conservative. The outcome of District 9 will show whether residents have the fortitude to vote their conservative values or if they too have fallen under the Castro liberal spell.
