Recalled to Life, slight return

A little over a year ago, I published the main portion of this article. After reading through it again, I felt it was important to share it with you all again. I welcome you all to the fold of concerned Fellow Patriots. We all are aware of the changes that our great Republic has undergone over the course of mainly the past two years, but in truth, over the span of our lifetime. In the past, before the modern age of Twitter, Facebook, the internet and e-mails, 24 hour news channels, we were just members of the American herd, working hard everyday, nose to the grind stones, so to speak. We did our duties, and at evening, we turned to the three trusted purveyors of what we thought was honest news. We have since learned that that was just an illusion.

Then, “we saw through a glass, darkly”, to borrow from the King James Bible. But now, “face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.” We see the world more clearly than we have in the past. Most importantly, we see our Republic for what it has become and how it has been driven in that direction.

Once again, welcome to those that are new, hello to those of the fold. My rants had become infrequent due to personal and business demands but those demands have lessened somewhat and the daily rants will return to their previous schedule.

“Recalled to Life”
“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times,
it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness,
it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity,
it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness,
it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair,
we had everything before us, we had nothing before us,
we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way.”

These are the famous lines which open “A Tale of Two Cities”. The story shows the great contrast between love and family, on the one hand, and oppression and hatred, on the other. I see it as also an allegory for our place and time. Our love for our Republic and our disdain for what it has become. Everyday it seems as if the left has something else up their sleeves in their push to fundamentally change what has been the most free, the most kind and the most prosperous nation that has ever been on this earth.

Many of us now feel, and in “us” I am referring to those of us that consider the nation and its history to be one of greatness, that our Republic and the future of it and our children are headed for disaster at the hands of those currently in control of it. We are standing up now and paying attention and we are seeing the country as we have known it disappearing from view.

It hasn’t disappeared as of yet and if we, you and I stand together in this fight, we can change the course it is on. It still can be the best of times as long as we do everything we can to return it to the Constitutional Republic that it was founded on. It is an age of wisdom for us when we are re-learning or learning for the first time just how remarkable our Founding Fathers actually were.

It can still be an epoch of belief in the goodness that the people of the United States have been throughout its life, protectors of the free, deliverers of the oppressed. Sure, we have had our moments of darkness but we have long been a season of Light for the huddled masses longing for freedom. We still are a beacon of hope to the entire world.

The times are tough now and we have to be ever vigilant in this fight because those that wish to fundamentally change our country are organized and dedicated to their efforts. One thing we need to remember is that those that disagree with us, are not thinking that they are perpetrating an evil deed on us, they believe they are doing right. They feel as passionate and righteous in their ways as we do in ours.

They believe, with all their hearts they are correct in their vision of fundamental change, and also that conservative, Constitution believing Americans are either, misguided or misinformed or just flat stupid. The majority of those that are defiantly trying to change this Republic truly believe in their hearts that the Tea Party people are just too dumb to understand that they have the right vision for our society and that YOU, are the problem, not the answer.

We have to remain true believers also. We know the truth. We believe in the truth. We have to constantly be ready to rally against the changes they wish to make and rebuff those that they already have. We have to get those in office to stand against everything that those in Washington DC are trying to do. We have to be the Party and People of NO! At least for now.

On April 14th 1859, Charles Dickens' published "A Tale of Two Cities"
“I see a beautiful city and a brilliant people rising from this abyss, and, in their struggles to be truly free, in their triumphs and defeats, through long years to come, I see the evil of this time and of the previous time of which this is the natural birth, gradually making expiation for itself and wearing out. . . .”

We have to help those that are against us in their wearing out. We have to call them on their lies, deceits and dictatorial attitudes towards us. We have to not let them make their gradual atonement through repeated rewriting of our history and deeds. Stand for truth and it is what they will break themselves on.

“It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest I go to than I have ever known.”

Hopefully we will not end as Sydney Carton did in the novel, but if we do; our fight will surely lead to the resurrection of not just our Republic, but the people of The United States of America as well. Stand and Deliver, Fight on Fellow Patriots
