Pray for your President!

This short and humorous story is being passed around the Internet:

My wife and I were in slow-moving traffic the other day and we were stopped behind a car that had an unusual Obama bumper sticker on it.

It read: "Pray for Obama. Psalm 109:8".

When we got home my wife got out the Bible and opened it up to the scripture.

She started laughing and laughing. Then she read it to me.

I couldn't believe what it said. I had a good laugh, too.

Psalm 109:8 ~ "Let his days be few and brief; and let others step forward to replace him."

At last -- I can honestly voice a Biblical prayer for our president!

Look it up -- it is word for word! Let us all bow our heads and pray.

Brothers and Sisters, can I get an AMEN?

And you wonder why people hate christians.  This is proof that you can manipulate the bile to say anything you want it to.

It is apparent that whomever decided to create the sticker did not read the entire Psalm.

First of all, no human on earth has the same perception. We can all read they BIBLE and come out with a different understanding. Reason there is so many religions out there. Sad to know you hate Christians, as you can only speak for yourself. Praying for you.

I guess people can twist or add words not referenced to make something say what they want.   Mr. or Ms. Anonymous did you even bother to read the post or are you twisting something to further your own agenda?

In the post, the original writes says "let others step forward to replace him" hardly a threat to his life and clearly indicates the electoral proces upon which we are now engaged.

Psalms 109 has 31 passages.  Only one was quoted in this post.  The rest were deliberately ignored.   At least until you brought them up.  Since you did, I will quote the third passage...

3 They compassed me about also with words of hatred;
and fought against me without a cause.

May Barrack Obama's days as President be few and limited to January 20th 2013.

And what would be IN context?  If it were exclusively applied to David? *LOL*  Is it not the point of Psalms to apply them to our daily modern lives?

Firstly, your post isn't exactly "tolerant".  Nor is it respecting the "diversity" the left loves to brag about.  But most importantly, the person who created this bumper sticker said absolutely nothing other than to pray for our president while citing a verse that was correctly described.  You may not like the fact the someone applied this to a "leader" with incredibly low approval ratings due to HIS very high unemployment numbers, massive debt, three wars, food stamps programs that have doubled, border-security negligence as drug violence spills over routinely, copious golf in the middle of crises, numerous expensive vacations (10 million spent on vacations for the first lady alone), the healthcare mandate he forced down our throats that is about to die a horrible death in the courts, or any of the other baggage he now has due to his treatment of Israel.  But none of this merits your hateful comments.

From a secular liberal angle, you should be charged with a hate crime for saying that.  However, we believers of all stripes whom you choose to hate and demonize against the seemingly non-judgmental approach your ilk claims to embrace will continue to turn the other cheek.

Good day to you.  May you continue to be the change you've been waiting for, and have plenty of water on hand for your Obama 2012 campaign fainting spells.

I see that you are a democrat and also an atheist..Will pray for you..

When you read, the American People are the ones that are saying the prayer and Obama and his his cronies are the leaders that need to be replaced. So to help you under stand the verus here it is:

The Holy Bible: King James Version. 2000. The Psalms 109
A Cry for Vengeance To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.
1  Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise;
2  for the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me:
         they have spoken against me with a lying tongue. 3  They compassed me about also with words of hatred;
         and fought against me without a cause. 4  For my love they are my adversaries:
         but I give myself unto prayer. 5  And they have rewarded me evil for good,
         and hatred for my love. 6  Set thou a wicked man over him:
         and let Satan stand at his right hand. 7  When he shall be judged, let him be condemned:
         and let his prayer become sin. 8  Let his days be few;
         and let another take his office. Acts 1.20 9  Let his children be fatherless,
         and his wife a widow. 10  Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg:
         let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places. 11  Let the extortioner catch all that he hath;
         and let the strangers spoil his labor. 12  Let there be none to extend mercy unto him:
         neither let there be any to favor his fatherless children. 13  Let his posterity be cut off;
         and in the generation following let their name be blotted out. 14  Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD;
         and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out. 15  Let them be before the LORD continually,
         that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth. 16  Because that he remembered not to show mercy,
         but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart. 17  As he loved cursing,
         so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him. 18  As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment,
         so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones. 19  Let it be unto him as the garment which covereth him,
         and for a girdle wherewith he is girded continually. 20  Let this be the reward of mine adversaries from the LORD,
         and of them that speak evil against my soul. 21  But do thou for me, O GOD the Lord, for thy name's sake:
         because thy mercy is good, deliver thou me. 22  For I am poor and needy,
         and my heart is wounded within me. 23  I am gone like the shadow when it declineth:
         I am tossed up and down as the locust. 24  My knees are weak through fasting;
         and my flesh faileth of fatness. 25  I became also a reproach unto them:
         when they looked upon me they shook their heads. Mt. 27.39 · Mk. 15.29 26  Help me, O LORD my God:
         O save me according to thy mercy: 27  that they may know that this is thy hand;
         that thou, LORD, hast done it. 28  Let them curse, but bless thou:
         when they arise, let them be ashamed; but let thy servant rejoice. 29  Let mine adversaries be clothed with shame;
         and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a mantle. 30  I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth;
         yea, I will praise him among the multitude. 31  For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor,
         to save him from those that condemn his soul.
