“Latino Flavor” - TX College Republicans State Convention Shows More Latinos Becoming Part of Republican Party (VIDEO)

Honorable Rosario Marin, 41st Treasurer of the United States, Gives Keynote Address at Texas College Republicans 2012 Convention

Most college Republicans are voting for their first or second time in a presidential election. They represent the present and future of our country. During the election season, the Texas College Republicans (TCR) focuses on developing a "mass based youth effort" directed toward electing Republican candidates.

Today, 30 percent of Hispanics consider themselves liberal, 31 percent moderate and 32 percent conservative — an almost equal distribution.

During the recent Texas College Republicans 2012 Convention held in the House of Representatives Chamber at the Texas Capitol, these Republican students heard from three speakers who exemplify leadership and service.

First the students heard from Ivan Andarza. Andarza is a well-known Immigration Attorney who came representing one of the organizations sponsoring the event: Latino National Republican Coalition, an auxiliary of the Republican Party of Texas.

Adryana Boyne, a well known Political Commentator and National Director of VOCES Action, spoke about the need to engage and embrace the Latino community.

Both, Adryana Boyne and Ivan Andarza frequently speak on behalf of the Republican Party to the Spanish Media.

The keynote speaker was the former treasurer of the United States, the honorable Rosario Marin. She spoke about  how she came to the United States as an immigrant from Mexico and how she became the first naturalized  immigrant who became US treasurer. Rosario Marin spoke about the immigration situation. She encouraged students to fight for their dreams.

The event was sponsored by TexasGOPVote, VOCES Action, Amigos de Patriots, and Empower Texans.
