In Case You Missed It (ICYMI): Congressman August Pfluger's (TX-11) bill to protect American property abroad passed the U.S. House of Representatives in a bipartisan fashion by a vote of 247-164 last week.

Background:

In May 2022, then-Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) abruptly shut down Vulcan Materials Company’s operations with false claims that the firm was violating its contract, and his government subsequently waged an unceasing pressure campaign against Vulcan, including multiple lawsuits and sending military and law enforcement to its facilities.

Since then, Rep. Pfluger has been a strong leader on this issue:

· In December 2023, Rep. Pfluger leda bipartisan letterto the Mexican Ambassador demanding answers about Mexico's actions against the American company.

· In May 2024, Rep. Pfluger introduced theDefending American Property Act of 2024.

· In March 2025, Rep. Pfluger alsoled a lettercommending President Trump's commitment to this issue by protecting American industries and jobs, which was first reported inThe Blaze.
