Pete Sessions Statement on February Jobs Report

Today I released the following statement regarding the Department of Labor’s February jobs report:

Today’s jobs report is yet another reminder of how many Americans are still struggling to find a job. While it is good news that some people have found work, Americans deserve solutions that allow for consistent and dynamic job growth across the economy. That's why the Obama Administration should stop doubling down on its same misguided policies and instead work with House Republicans on real job-creating ideas to help American families. Just this week, the president released his budget blueprint that includes job-destroying tax hikes and more government spending while doing nothing to tackle the drivers of our debt that stifle economic growth.

In order to get our economy back on the right track and Americans back to work, we need to empower the free-enterprise system – not Washington. That is why House Republicans passed several bills this week to boost energy production, spur job growth, and put more money back into the pockets of hardworking Americans. If the president is serious about job creation, he will support the energy bills the House approved this week, as well as the dozens of jobs bills that are awaiting action in the Senate.
