Congressman Neugebauer Praises Bill to Fund Strong National Defense

I released the following statement praising the passage of the FY2015 Defense Appropriations bill. The bill passed the House yesterday by a vote of 340-73.

This bill promotes our national security and provides for our troops, all while meeting the budget caps agreed to earlier this year.

I have the highest respect for our brave soldiers and their families, and I am proud to recognize their sacrifice with a 1.8% pay increase included in this bill. We have also allotted funds to provide for the equipment, modernization, and training they need to defend our nation, while including important investments in the health and well-being of our men and women in uniform as they serve. Providing for our national defense is one of my most important jobs in Congress. I am glad this bill passed the House with bipartisan support for maintaining a strong military and our national security.
