Pray to End Abortion

“Defend the unborn against abortion even if they persecute you, calumniate you, set traps for you, take you to court or kill you. No child should be deprived of the right to be born, the right to be fed, the right to go to school. ” Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio Buenos Aires, Argentina, September 5, 2005 (Pope Francis)
There is no doubt that the evil that flows from the White House permeates throughout our society affecting those most vulnerable. Our youth who do not have the experience or might not have the foundation to understand, and the poor who welcome with open arms any help they can receive are the most susceptible in believing the lies that the Obama administration has circulated. As Christians we should make it our mission to inform and embrace our youth, to assist through our churches those in need and donate to local pregnancy centers.
The White House is relentless in attacking our Christian principles and will continue to be the aggressor as long as we are in the majority. If Christians were in the minority, we would be ignored. The Pro Life movement was the first to be attacked in January, 2009 by an Executive Order and then the Obama Administration in 2011 claimed that the Defense of Marriage Act was unconstitutional and would no longer defend it. Never have we seen such persistence in destroying our traditional family values by a president who claims he is Christian and yet has signed Executive Orders that are contrary to Christian beliefs.
Life is an inalienable right granted to us from Almighty God and not the government. The miracle of LIFE is the most precious gift God grants us and must be defended. Our government has become an intrusive tyrant by its unyielding assault on our First Amendment, Freedom of Religion. “How can we win?” This question follows me even at the grocery store from neighbors wanting to know how to counter attack. My answer is simple. We win when we push back and when we realize that there are 325 million Americans and 77% are still Christian according to a Gallup poll taken in December 2012.
The main stream media wants nothing more than for us to believe that we are alone and that we are abandoned by our fellow Americans. We are not alone! Yes, there are many atheists, agnostics, non believers and many others who want to silence us by using various methods of intimidation: bullying, fear and coercion. If we allow this, we will fail. But from what I have experienced our voices are getting louder and we are becoming stronger.
Nellie Gray co-founder of March for Life was a staunch Catholic and a strong voice for the unborn. I had the great opportunity to speak to her over the telephone and her message was that she believed that one day Roe v Wade would be overturned. Since the decision there have been over 55 million abortions. We need to be a trumpet for the unborn by becoming more active in the Pro Life movement. Let’s not forget that Pro Life is not only from conception but to natural death. We must be ever vigilant to preserve life.
I have witnessed the spirit of Americans expressing their freedom of Religion by attending the March for Life in DC and Rally for Life in Austin and in my hometown of San Antonio. We must stand firmly on our Christian principles and show the rest of America and the world that abortion is an intrinsic evil. Making it legal will never make it moral.
There was a heartbreaking loss in San Antonio just before Christmas. An infant was found dead in a duffel bag at a recycling plant. It is so sad to think that there are people in our society who treat life like a disposable piece of trash. In an effort to avoid such tragic endings for any newborn, in 1999, Texas became the first state to enact Safe Haven laws. An unwanted newborn can be voluntarily dropped off by a parent at a hospital if the intent is not to return for the child. It is obvious that this message needs to be repeated again and again. If you would like to contribute towards the funeral expenses of Baby Noel please contact: Southwest Funeral Home, 3946 S. Zarzamora St., San Antonio, Texas 78225, phone 210-932-0050.
There are many opportunities to participate in the Pro Life movement, The March for Life in Washington DC January 22, 2014 and the Rally for Life in Austin, Texas January 25, 2014. If you are on Twitter there is going to be a TwitterStorm on January 22. Join us to #PraytoEndAbortion. We must not let this administration win by beating us into submission.
FIGHT, PRAY, NEVER GIVE UP!
