Reflecting on a Legacy of Service with Aggieland's Finest
Recently, I had the honor of visiting with Texas A&M University President and former Secretary of the Air Force, Mark Welsh. We had a great conversation about the incredible work being done at Texas A&M and the promising future of the entire Texas A&M University System.
During our meeting, I had the privilege of sharing a piece of personal and national history with him — my Norden Bombsight. This remarkable instrument was used by B-17 bombardiers like my father to carry out precision bombing missions during World War II. It played a critical role in helping the Allies defeat tyranny and preserve freedom across the globe.
For me, this relic is more than just a piece of equipment — it’s a symbol of courage, sacrifice, and the enduring legacy of the Greatest Generation. As the proud son of a WWII veteran, I believe it's vital to honor our military heroes and preserve the stories that shaped our nation’s history. There truly is nothing like connecting with those who’ve served and preserving the American values of service and patriotism.
