SAUL ALINSKY and his tentacles COPS/METRO in San Antonio

The showing of ‘A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing: The Disguised Socialism of Saul Alinsky’ by Catholic EWTN exposed just how high Alinsky’s venom has traveled in the Catholic Church, all the way to the Vatican.   The 60 minute docu-drama was first aired on September 21 and will be aired again because of popular demand on Saturday, October 1.  The film presented a Catholic response to the life and thought of a 1960s community organizer, Saul Alinsky, whose “Rules for Radicals” have impacted the thinking of many in the Catholic Church today, especially in the area of social justice.

In a past article I wrote about Saul Alinsky and his connection to San Antonio, Texas, dated March 23, 2013. I presented Ernie Cortes, the San Antonio connection to Alinsky.  It was Cortes who travelled to Chicago to learn at the Saul Alinsky Institute at the Industrial Areas Foundation.  It was Cortes who founded (Communities Organized for Public Services) C.O.P.S in 1974 with money donated by various churches and individuals from San Antonio.  Cortes may have wanted social justice for the Mexican worker in San Antonio and proper maintenance in the West side of San Antonio, but the unintended consequences that ensued have left a trail of Liberal Catholics who knowingly or unknowingly votes against Catholic teachings.

Cortes introduced the Alinsky methods to San Antonio through Father Edmundo Rodriguez, a Jesuit priest. Fr Rodriguez worked out of Our Lady of Guadalupe, one of the oldest Catholic churches in San Antonio and helped found C.O.P.S.  Fr Rodriguez understood the issues that the Mexican worker and the poor faced in San Antonio.  I have enclosed some historic videos you might want to watch on Fr Rodriguez and an oral interview with Cortes by the Institute of Texan Cultures, Oral History Office in 1994.

You should know that C.O.P.S. is still very active in the San Antonio Archdiocese, registering parishioners on the pretext of doing a civic duty.   This ad appeared in one of the Catholic Church bulletins with dates to register.  What these people are actually doing is recruiting for their particular agenda.  They continue to deceive, though they are quite clear on their website addressing what they do.  I’m not sure why this group is still allowed to work inside the Catholic churches since Democrats vote FOR abortion and same-sex marriage which are against Catholic doctrine.  This group is so ingrained in San Antonio that it is impossible to know who truly understands C.O.P.S. intentions and who follows blindly.   It is the responsibility of each parishioner to assist in revealing who these people are and to question their intentions.

The following information is taken directly from the C.O.P.S. website emphasis are mine.

COPS/Metro's strength is in its members: the religious institutions, labor locals, and other nonprofit and civic institutions that share a concern for community and are rooted in traditions of democracy. COPS/Metro is broad-based and works in the interest of our community's families, as an interfaith organization that embraces a membership of both religious and secular institutions.

As COPS/Metro members, institutions commit to building "organizing teams" or “action teams” of leaders and potential leaders to work on local issues identified by the team. By joining with other institutions that have similar goals and concerns, COPS/Metro members increase their collective power and work to achieve victories on local and city-wide issues. Member institutions pay dues to ensure COPS/Metro has a secure and independent core budget.

COPS/METRO’s website also provides a list of dues-paying members:

Do not think that the Democrats are rolling over because they are not!  The Hillary Clinton campaign just opened their office in San Antonio, located at 1800 West Commerce, and is working very hard to gain Texas. It would be very naïve to think that C.O.P.S./METRO and the Democrats are NOT targeting Catholics. Remember the full page ad on ‘Catholics for Choice’, on September 12 in the San Antonio Express News?  Well, these ads also appeared in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York.  According to Father Frank Pavone from Priests for Life, these states bordering the Great Lakes have upwards of 40% of all eligible Catholic voters in the U.S.  The very fact that Hillary Clinton chose as her running mate a Catholic who speaks Spanish, Tim Kaine, should tell you how badly she wants the Catholic vote.  Obama used Joe Biden to win blue-collar Catholics in Pennsylvania and Hillary will try to use Kaine to win the Catholic vote nationwide.

This huge poster on the East Side of San Antonio at the corner of Hackberry and East Commerce tells a conceivable scenario of gaining the Catholic vote.  The image of the current Democrat President Obama, Hillary Clinton the nominee for 2016 and the Socialist Bernie Sanders who practically wrote the Democrat platform single handily are seen side by side with a huge grin and where is former President Bill Clinton? It seems that the image of a smiling, well-loved, former Catholic President J F Kennedy is more welcoming than Bill Clinton.   Kennedy served before Roe vs Wade legalized killing of the unborn.  How much longer are we going to allow C.O.P.S./METRO the enemy within into our churches?
Fight, NEVER GIVE UP!
