Upcoming VA Voucher Training for Doctors, Billing Staff

One of the many challenges facing the Department of Veterans Affairs in Texas is a shortage of primary care physicians and specialty care providers. Because of this, the VA has alternatives for veterans needing care utilizing outside doctors: the VA Choice and the VA Voucher program. Both offer an opportunity for local, private healthcare providers to provide services to veterans and assist the VA to provide veterans with appointments in a shorter time frame and at facilities located closer to home. I have partnered with Port Lavaca Memorial Hospital and its CFO Dr. Jerry Pickett to bring training to our area on Tuesday, January 5 in Port Lavaca to assist the medical community in dealing with the paperwork to get promptly reimbursed through the VA. Hopefully this will also encourage providers to participate in providing needed services to our local veterans.

These training seminars double as an outreach to healthcare providers who may be interested in providing care to our nation’s heroes. Any/ all healthcare providers interested in learning how to utilize VA Choice, VA Vouchers, and VA Fee Basis to serve veterans should attend this training. Any healthcare providers and billing staff needing assistance receiving payment for overdue bills submitted to the VA should also attend.

To sign up, or if you have any questions, please reach out to my District Director, JD Kennedy, at 361-884-2222 or [email protected].
