While Texas Senate Debates Texas Abortion Bill (HB2), Let’s Talk about Sex
Hello, TexasGOPVote readers! It's me again, back for more about HB 2, formerly known as SB 5. As I was perusing Facebook, which, I have been known to do, I saw a picture that prompted me to write this particular post.
When it comes to the abortion issue, every living person that's old enough has an opinion on the issue, and if they don't, they need to check their pulse. This picture that I'm referring to brings us all back to the beginning. You know, that thing that causes pregnancy in the first place. Still need a hint? I'm talking about...SEX!
Sex, sex and more sex. Having sex causes pregnancy! In the Bible, it's referred to as "getting to know someone" or "laying with your wife/husband". Matter of fact, sex is a gift from God, to be enjoyed by two people once they have been....married. Yep, and just like all of the other good things that God gave us, we have managed to pervert it.
We see the folks on what we call the political left, the Democrats screaming and chanting obscenities about their 'lady parts' while most of them exhibit behavior that is, shall we say, less than 'lady like'. To those in the pro-choice camp: if you want the government to stay out of your vagina, if you feel the need to hold signs with pictures of uteri captioned by 'Come and Take It', I have a novel idea for you; if you aren't married, don't have sex! Period!
I know that sounds like a Puritan or a Quaker ideology, but this is God's desire for all of us. The leftist women's movement is going to accuse me of 'oppressing' them. Fine by me. Scripture tells us in Ephesians 5:25: "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless." It continues on in verse 31, "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife and the two will become one flesh." So archaic, so oppressive, so, so, boring! And yet, so freeing. So when you meet the right person, there's no worry of diseases or baggage or pregnancy scares before you meet that person. Kind of leaves abortion out of the conversation, doesn't it?
The Bible is pretty straightforward if you ask me. No oppression here, no pointing fingers, no screaming and throwing urine or feces. No need.
