GOP Incumbent Senator Bob Bennett Kicked Out Of Running

Utah Republican Senator Bob Bennett was denied his bid for a fourth term as Senator by being removed at a GOP convention dominated by Tea Party activists this past weekend. Both Bennett and political pundits were shocked that Utah Republicans would do this considering his seniority and connections in the Senate. However, according to critics, he needed to be booted out since he supported the TARP bailout and worked with Democrats early on in the health care reform legislation process to construct a bipartisan bill. The only way Bennett can be reelected to the Senate is for Utah voters to write his name on the ballot.
