Americans Beg Schumer to End the Shutdown
Senate Democrats have now voted against Republicans' clean, nonpartisan bill to fund our government at least 14 times. In their attempts to gain political "leverage," they've turned a blind eye to the pain their shutdown is causing. This week, travelers reported a wait time of more than four hours at Houston's airport, and as TSA and FAA personnel go without pay, airports across the country have been forced to limit their capacity. Small business loans remain inaccessible, uncertainty looms over SNAP benefits, and veterans lack access to crucial programs — all because Senate Democrats refuse to open the government.
The political games must end. From airline associations to veterans' groups to small business coalitions to major labor unions, Americans harmed by the Schumer shutdown are begging Senate Democrats to stop blocking Republicans' clean funding bill. It's time they listened and opened our government.
