Congressman Gonzales Joins Legislation to End Taxpayer Funded Abortions

I joined 171 of my House Republican colleagues in co-sponsoring the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortions Act (H.R. 18) led by Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ-04). This legislation codifies the Hyde Amendment, which bans taxpayer funding for abortions and health coverage including abortions.

As a father of six, I believe every life is precious and am fully committed to protecting the lives of the unborn. American taxpayers should not be forced to contribute to causes that go against their beliefs. Ensuring that taxpayer dollars are never used to fund abortions is one of my top priorities in Congress.
