Congressman Sessions Discusses Meetings Across District 32

During this District work period, I was delighted to travel around the 32nd Congressional District of Texas and meet with constituents. I had the opportunity to meet with local business leaders, talk with students, and listen to the thoughts and concerns of North Texans. I always enjoy discussing issues with my constituents and learning more about what is most important to them.

Meals on Wheels
The Volunteer Nurses Association of Texas is a nonprofit organization that helps our elderly neighbors and loved ones maintain their independence by providing the services that allow them to age where they are happiest and most comfortable – at home. In 1973, VNA Texas began participating in the Meals on Wheels program and since then they have gone from serving 125 meals a day to more than 4,000 a day. On Monday I had the opportunity to join Katherine Krauss, the President of the Volunteer Nurses Association (VNA) and help her deliver meals to North Texas seniors. Meals on Wheels is a critical program for our seniors and I am very happy that I was able to volunteer and lend a helping hand.

Sachse High School
Tuesday morning I was delighted to speak to Sachse High School’s AP Government class. I explained my role in Congress as a Representative of the 32nd Congressional District of Texas as well as my duties as Chairman of the Rules Committee. I always enjoy meeting with students to discuss the importance of being involved and understanding how our government works. These students were extremely bright and engaging and I am pleased to have such wonderful young leaders in our North Texas community.

On Wednesday I was in Garland and visited the Micropac Industries headquarters. Micropac Industries has been providing innovative and integrated electronic product solutions for “Mission Critical” applications to the Military, space, medical and industrial markets from their headquarters in Garland for more than 50 years. From the gyro sensor used in Hellfire missile guidance systems to radiation-shielded satellite power distribution systems, and everything in between, Micropac Industries delivers the cutting edge technology that keeps our country moving forward. I was delighted to tour the facility, learn more about their operations, and see their products up close.

Texas Association of Business Congressional Roundtable
On Thursday I was pleased to participate in a Congressional roundtable discussion with Congressman Michael Burgess and Congressman Marc Veasey, hosted by the Texas Association of Business, Texas Association of Manufacturers, and the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce.
