Exclusive: John Griffing Interviews Congressman Ted Poe

On Monday, August 13, 2012, John Griffing, columnist at Texas GOP Vote, World Net Daily, American Thinker, and other conservative publications, conducted a live interview with Congressman Ted Poe (R-TX).

Initial topics covered dealt primarily with Congressman Poe’s record, current initiatives advanced by Congressman Poe, Congressman Poe’s achievements while in Congress, and what Congressman Poe loves most about serving Texas.

As the interview progressed, however, Poe addressed issues of great significance. Topics included, but were not limited to: civil liberties and how the post-9/11 climate has impacted the balance between liberty and safety, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and what it really means for US Citizens, drones and what Poe is doing to regulate them, and much more. This segment of the interview ended with a dense discussion on the proper role of Congress in relation to the Executive Branch and how Republicans in Congress can combat President Obama’s unconstitutional power grabs.

Congressman Poe also briefly touched on the national debt and the consequences of continued inaction, as well as military deployment without Congressional authorization. As Poe remarked, “Whose next? Are we going to start dropping bombs on Syria? Nobody knows, only the President.”

Congressman Poe was as usual highly focused and direct in his comments, a trait uncommon amongst many political figures, cutting right to the heart of important topics. Poe jokingly remarked that he will “never be a diplomat with the State Department.” We appreciate Congressman Poe for taking time to keep our readers informed.
