Granger Praises $100,000 Federal Investment in Fort Worth Company

As the Lead Republican on the House Appropriations Committee, I released the following statement after the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced an award of $100,000 to FHNC Ltd. Company in Fort Worth to develop and commercialize a new technology to remove fats, oils, and grease from waste streams. The grant will be awarded through the EPA’s participation in the federal Small Business Innovation Research Program, which is awarding over $2.5 million to select small businesses developing innovative technologies that protect the environment and stimulate the economy.

As a former small business owner, I know firsthand how small businesses can play a big role in confronting some of our greatest challenges with creativity and ingenuity. I’m proud that Fort Worth’s FHNC Ltd. Company has been recognized for its innovative work in providing clean and safe water, through its selection as one of only 25 American small businesses to receive EPA funding through the Small Business Innovation Research Program.

I look forward to seeing this grant support the efforts of one of Fort Worth’s excellent small businesses as it develops a new device that will help protect public health and the environment, and build a healthier and more prosperous future for our community.
