Holding Officials Accountable

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has lied to the American people about classified emails on her server. Last week, the Inspector General for U.S. Intelligence Agencies reported to Congress the discovery of two emails designated “Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information” on her server.

I am stunned by her callous disregard for both the law and the security of this nation. It’s more critical than ever that those at the highest levels of government be held accountable for their actions, especially when those actions put this nation at risk.

Clinton blatantly lied just a few weeks ago when she told the American people that she was “confident” she “never sent nor received any information that was classified.” Had she not used servers located at her home, and instead used government servers, this would not have happened.

As a former computer consultant, I know how hard it is to secure a computer system from hackers. In fact, I believe it virtually impossible to secure a system from a government-sponsored attack. I’ve often joked that if we really want to see all the emails that were on Clinton’s server, we should ask the Chinese and Russians for a copy.

All joking aside, this is a serious issue. Hillary Clinton has put, and will continue to put her own political ambitions above the safety and security of the United States and the law. We must continue the investigation into these abuses, see how bad the damage is, and hold those responsible accountable to both Congress and a court of law.
