House Passes National Defense Bill in Big Win for CCAD

The House passed the revised National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) last week, which includes authorization for $85 million to continue the expansion and updating of the Corpus Christi Army Depot’s (CCAD) powertrain facility. Additionally, it included an amendment that requires the Department of Defense to limit furloughing employees at facilities like CCAD, and prevented transferring work of furloughed employees to other DoD employees, contractors, or members of the Armed Forces.

More than 1 million members of the military and their families were affected by the President’s veto of the NDAA in October. The bill that passed in the House last week will ensure the men and women who put their lives on the line for the security of our nation will have the tools, training, and funding to defend our nation.
