Hurd Among Finalists for Congressional Management Foundation’s Awards
Today, the Congressional Management Foundation (CMF) announced I am a finalist for the Democracy Award for Transparency and Accountability. CMF recognizes offices that provide clear and relevant information on their work.
All congressmen and women are in Washington because their constituents sent them to serve. If we fail to be open, honest, and transparent, then we shouldn’t represent our home districts. I appreciate the recognition of the Congressional Management Foundation as a finalist for their Democracy Award for Transparency and Accountability. But, it’s recognition from the folks at home in Texas’ 23rd district that matters most to me. I hope they all know that my office is ready to serve them in whatever way possible.
“Now, more than ever, we need examples of our government functioning at its highest level. As a finalist in Transparency & Accountability for a Democracy Award, the office of Rep. Will Hurd is clearly one of the best in Congress. This designation demonstrates that Rep. Hurd has made a significant commitment to being the best public servant for his constituents. Rep. Hurd and staff are to be congratulated for not only being a model for colleagues in Congress, but for helping to restore trust and faith that our democratic institutions can work,” said Bradford Fitch, President and CEO of the Congressional Management Foundation.
24 House and Senate offices were honored as finalists in four categories: Constituent Service; Innovation and Modernization; Transparency and Accountability; and "Life in Congress"-Workplace Environment.
