McCaul Slams Biden Administration’s Runaway Inflation

I released the following statement after news that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) soared to 9.1 percent, the highest rate since 1981. For perspective, in January 2021, when President Biden took office, the CPI was 1.4 percent.

The failed policies of the Biden administration have made everything Americans purchase more expensive. While inflation skyrockets and wages remain stagnant in the Biden economy, Americans are struggling to fill up their gas tanks, pay their rent, and put food on their tables. In response, President Biden and Congressional Democrats are proposing trillions more in spending – which will only exacerbate inflation – and further regulations on American energy production. Now is the time for real leadership and real solutions.
