Rep. Jackson Secures Wins For TX-13 As NDAA Passes The House
I issued the following statement in response to the National Defense Authorization Act’s (NDAA) passage in the U.S. House of Representatives. Due to my work, many provisions were included in the bill that will benefit Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Pantex Plant in Amarillo, and the larger defense-focused workforce in Texas’ Thirteenth Congressional District.
As a retired Navy Admiral, I know that the implications of the NDAA could not be more serious for our military readiness and national security. This year’s NDAA will ensure our great military is prepared for any potential conflict, while also making sure our servicemembers and their families are taken care of at home. In addition to funding projects in our district, this bill also provides critical oversight of the Military Health System, protections for servicemembers who have reservations about taking the COVID-19 vaccine, and takes steps to address the national security crisis at our southern border.
I serve on the House Armed Services and Foreign Affairs Committees. For additional details on the NDAA provisions I led, click here.
I spoke on the House Floor in favor of the FY23 NDAA, and led the opposition to defeat an amendment by Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (MI-13) that would’ve made the U.S. vulnerable to nuclear attacks by China and Russia.
