Rep. Roy Announces Staff Promotions and Transitions Ahead of 118th Congress

Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) released the following statement regarding staff promotions and transitions ahead of the start of the 118th Congress. Current Chief of Staff Jason Rogers will be departing to join Whip Tom Emmer’s office as General Counsel, effective January 15th. Stepping into the role of Chief of Staff will be Sabrina Hancock, who will be succeeded as Legislative Director by Legislative Assistant Hal Duncan. Current District Director, John Fletcher, will serve in a new expanded role of Deputy Chief of Staff and District Director.

Rep. Roy had the following comments:

As much as we hate to lose him, I could not be happier that Jason will be able to help the entire Republican conference as we fight for conservative, constitutional principles in the upcoming Congress. He has been an extraordinary leader for our office, a conservative man of integrity who has served our constituents and our staff well. Sabrina has been an indispensable part of the team since my very first day in Congress and has my utmost confidence as she steps into the role of Chief of Staff. John also brings that same level of experience from day one and will bring it to an expanded role as Deputy Chief of Staff. He will help continue to lead and steer this team forward. Finally, Hal - who grew up in Texas 21 - brings both a deep knowledge of policy and bicameral experience, from his time with Sen. Toomey, to the role of Legislative Director and both will be critical in helping put forward a bold policy agenda for this Congress and beyond.

When you set out to hire and develop a strong, talented, and committed staff, you do so knowing they will eventually get offers and opportunities. When those arise, it is important to encourage them to expand and disperse the family of constitutional, limited-government conservatives ready and willing to fight for America.

Additionally, Nate Madden will also serve in a new expanded role as Strategic Advisor and Communications Director while Scheduler Corinne Schillizzi will move into an expanded role as Director of Operations.
