Securing U.S. Elections from Foreign Influence
Last week, I reintroduced a package of bills prohibiting noncitizens from voting in D.C., preventing noncitizens from administering elections, and ensuring that only citizens can vote in our elections. Since being elected to Congress, I have led the way in cracking down on foreign influence in our elections. Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of our democracy, which is why protecting them is essential to our nation’s sovereignty and will ensure America has a flourishing democracy for decades to come.
The overwhelming foreign influence that took place in past elections clearly indicates that we must take protecting our elections from noncitizens more seriously. These bills are three common-sense steps we can take to ensure noncitizens have no part in our elections. We must safeguard the integrity of our electoral system, and these bills will work to do just that.
