Trump Justice for Jussie Smollett

Why do I call what’s happening to Smollett, “Trump Justice”? Because it’s long overdue.

In breaking news we learn that the former Empire actor now faces new criminal charges.

Believe it or not, nearly a year has passed since Cook County prosecutors dropped disorderly conduct counts against him for his racist, homophobic hoax, where Smollett claimed two MAGA-hats wearing Trump supporters attacked him. In fact, Smollett orchestrated the attack on himself early last year.

In the new charges, Smollett was indicted by a special Cook County grand jury on six counts of disorderly conduct for allegedly making four separate false reports regarding what police said was a faked attack. Special Prosecutor Dan Webb announced the charges in a press release Tuesday, saying that “further prosecution of Jussie Smollett is ‘in the interest of justice’.”

According to multiple reports, Webb’s team looked at “the extensive nature” of Smollett’s falsehoods and the massive amount of time and money Chicago Police put into the investigation, before deciding to bring charges.

Only fitting that just when many people felt Smollett had gotten away with his hoax that he would get served. The timing interests me, given all that has happened with President Trump, post-Senate impeachment farce. More on this in a bit…

Smollett had a year to consider things. Perhaps he felt this was all behind him, but it’s not.

When the lie was first uncovered, Smollett paid a $10,000 bond. Later he gladly forfeited the bond when Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx made the deal the dismiss the case. At one point, Smollett smugly threatened to sue the city of Chicago for mistreating him; laughable considering the city spent about $130,000 investigating the hoax.

Webb investigated all aspects of the case, including Foxx’s handling of the matter. Clearly Kim Foxx remains in Webb’s sites as he get to the bottom of this miscarriage of justice.

Remember when Foxx declared publicly that Smollett’s case was handled the same way as other low-level charges? But then evidence promptly emerged that she lied. Moreover, Foxx’s office produced no evidence supporting the claim.

Essentially Foxx put her reputation on the line for a man who hired two Nigerian friends to stage a hate-crime. Even more egregious is Smollett’s attempt to incite anger over his race and sexuality, fueling the Left’s sick and intense hatred of Trump supporters.

Next, Smollett premeditated this crime, having mailed threatening letters to the set of Empire days earlier–a Federal crime, by the way.

Foxx’s participation gets better.

According to Webb’s investigation, Cook County prosecutors couldn’t show Webb’s team any new evidence that arose between Smollett’s indictment and the day charges were dropped that would weaken the case against the actor.

And now Foxx cries foul.

Foxx is up for re-election. So one can imagine that her challengers rightfully use the Smollett case in their bid against her. In political irony, Foxx’s campaign issued a statement calling out the “James Comey-like timing” of Webb’s decision to bring charges against Smollett with just over a month to go before the Democratic primary.

“(It) can only be interpreted as the further politicization of the justice system, something voters in the era of Donald Trump should consider offensive,” the statement read.

Or it could be interpreted of a real investigator doing his job?

Back to Trump Justice and the timing of this news

What’s happening to Smollett and Foxx sets up like the Hillary Clinton/James Comey scenario. Like Smollett and Foxx, Clinton and Comey believe they escaped justice. But that’s not the case.

John Durham plays Dan Webb in the rewrite of the story. Soon America will watch Trump Justice, as Clinton and Comey get served.
