*Results Update: Republican Charles Djou won the Hawaii Special Election!
The Special Election for U.S. Representative of Hawaii's 1st Congressional District is today. This district has been Democratic for the past twenty years, however, with two Democrats and one Republican vying for the spot, it is likely the Democrats will split the vote - leading to a Republican victory.
The Republican candidate is Charles Djou and the two Democratic candidates are Ed Case and Colleen Hanabusa.
According to the Associated Press:
Republican Charles Djou (duh-JOO') is favored to win the seat, and a victory would be an embarrassment to Democrats locally and nationally given that Obama was born in the district and spent most of his childhood here.
Good luck Charles Djou!
