We Need Reform, Not Rhetoric

After abandoning Dreamers multiple times, House Democrats continue to politicize immigration reform rather than work on bipartisan solutions to address the border crisis. 

H.R. 6 is a bill that fails to live up to its optimistic title. Instead of addressing the multi-faceted immigration problem that we’re facing, H.R. 6 offers unregulated access to citizenship and makes it easy for criminals and gang members to access green cards, while offering no improved enforcement measures, protections against fraudulent green card applications, or solutions to close the back door of illegal immigration.

I urge my Democratic colleagues to reach across the aisle and meet us halfway – we need reform, not rhetoric. The security of our nation is larger than one party’s political agenda.
