Pete Sessions Applauds Passage of STEM Jobs Act for Economic Growth, Competitiveness

Today, I released the following statement regarding House passage of the STEM Jobs Act (H.R. 6429), which would reallocate 55,000 visas to foreign-born graduates with advanced science, tech, engineering and math degrees:

I applaud the House’s action today on the STEM Jobs Act, a common-sense bill that will allow more bright individuals to stay in the country and increase the potential for innovative ideas to be made in America. By allowing the U.S. to retain more foreign graduates of our universities, we can boost our nation’s access to top talent and sources of creativity that will create more job opportunities.

The STEM Jobs Act makes our nation’s immigration system smarter while stimulating job growth and strengthening global competiveness. American prosperity and job creation are my top priorities, and I believe that policies like the STEM Jobs Act will help reenergize our economy and create a brighter future for our children and grandchildren.

Wow, what a slap in the face to hispanic voters. I guess we'll have keep giving 70% of our votes to the Dems. Essentially you are saying "we arent bright and we dont want you." Why can't the GOP come up with comprehensive immigration plan?  You would probably win in 2016 if you did.
