GOP Judicial Candidates ‘Come Out Of The Closet’
Justitia, Lady Justice, has been ‘blinded’ since the 15th century. The blindfold signifies objectivity, that justice should be measured accurately without fear or favor, regardless of race, gender, religion, personal wealth or power. Judges play an enormous role in our society. People tend to forget that lives going into a courtroom can change drastically by the outcome of the decision of the judge and jury.
They govern how people accept the laws set by the state and US and Texas Constitutions. Judges interpret the law, hear evidence presented and evaluate such. They control how hearings and trials develop in their courtrooms. In essence, the judge plays an independent and impartial role in order to assess all the facts presented, subsequently applying the laws pertaining to the case in question. Judges by the very nature of their title must stand above all others. It is imperative that they possess integrity, a strong moral character, ability to discern and have a calm temperament. A judge according to Canon law 2A “must avoid all impropriety and appearance of impropriety. This prohibition applies to both professional and personal conduct. A judge must expect to be the subject of constant public scrutiny and accept freely and willingly restrictions that might be viewed as burdensome by the ordinary citizen.”
Activists campaigning for the judiciary should not be considered. The Republican Party has always held open arms for anyone willing to embrace their conservative values. Because of this, there can be abuse. Not all who claim to have ‘reformed’ are reformed. In fact, some Democrats turned Republicans entice the ‘weak’ Republicans to their way of thinking. We basically have a two party system in America. Democrats and Republicans have entirely different ideologies. Republicans are for limited government, fiscal responsibility, and free market enterprise. The social values are also on opposite ends. Republicans value life, traditional marriage, and strong family support from conception to the end of life. If we want our children and grandchildren to enjoy the freedoms we have taken for granted than we must be ever vigilant of those who claim to have conservative values and in truth are Liberals in disguise. If we continue to vote in Republicans willing to ‘compromise’ their conservative values, than why bother to have two parties?
It isn’t a secret that we are struggling to retain our Freedom of Religion in the courts today. It is because we now have judges who ‘interpret’ the law to suit their Liberal agenda. San Antonio is not exempt from activist judges who could endanger our conservative values. Keep in mind that San Antonio is ground zero in fighting for the freedoms our Founding Fathers fought for. This is why ‘Battleground Texas’ is being so aggressive in securing Texas.
San Antonio, named for St. Anthony de Padua over 300 years ago by a Franciscan priest, Father Damien Massanet, drew its strength from its Catholic beliefs. In 2013 the citizenry of San Antonio fought the good fight against the non-discrimination ordnance which violated conservative values losing to the Liberal faction that presently rules the city.
Unfortunately we have Republican candidates that have ‘come out of the closet’ after the primary to show their true identity. Below are photographs of several of our judicial candidates who are flaunting this photograph on a very public social medium, Facebook, knowing that it is incendiary to the Catholic, Christian and conservative voters in San Antonio.
These photographs taken in September 2014 have Republican and Democrats standing proudly with the LBGT San Antonio Chamber. We expect the Democrats to support the homosexual agenda but the Republicans? Needless to say these Republican candidates in the photographs are a big disappointment and a sad reflection of our times. They have chosen to ‘go along to get a Vote’ rather than stand for conservative values. Republicans identified who are also on the November ballot are Karen Crouch, Stephani Walsh, Celeste Brown, Kelly Cross, Art Rossi and Walden Shelton.
This excerpt is taken from an article I wrote August 29, 2014. “Jonathan Saenz President of Texas Values filed a brief supporting Attorney General Greg Abbott on Texas Marriage Laws. The homosexuals want us to think that it’s OK to have same sex marriage but in essence they are about destroying marriage. He went on to say that Texas has values we can be proud of and if it’s time to redefine marriage, “let’s do it at the capital!” He absolutely believes that Democrats have declared war on Texas.”
This cartoon illustrates the necessity of electing good conservative judges, from which some may eventually be appointed to higher courts and even the Supreme Court.
Obviously the candidates in the photographs do not reflect conservative values and are paving the way for further erosion in the Republican Party and particularly in San Antonio. It’s been said that a photograph is worth a 1000 words and that ‘we will know them by their fruits’. ‘Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but underneath are ravenous wolves’. Matthew 7- 15:16
In a city that is infested with Liberals, the actions of a few foolish Republicans can destroy the efforts of so many conservatives and thereby giving the Liberals more power. This doesn’t come easy for me, but A NO VOTE on these positions is suggested.
