Marco Rubio Gives "Most Outstanding" Speech at CPAC 2010

Adryana Boyne, National Director of VOCES Action, was interviewed by TexasGOPVote. VOCES stands for “Voices Offering Conservative Empowering Solutions.” VOCES Action is aimed at communicating conservative values within and through the Latino population. Adryana was asked what the highlight of her first day at CPAC 2010 was.

The first day at CPAC was quite an exciting day. Even though there were several speakers, and all of them very good, I believe that the candidate for US senate from Florida, Marco Rubio, was the most outstanding.
I like Marco, and it is not just because he is a Hispanic Republican, but because of what he stands for. Marco shared with the audience that he was privileged to have been born in America. He is a son of Cuban immigrants that worked blue collar jobs, and still remembers sitting on the porch of his house listening to his grandfather talk about the contrast of his life in Cuba versus his life in America. Marco also remembers how his father came home after a 16 hour work shift and his mother would be working all day at K-Mart.
Although Marco was born in America, he learned to appreciate his American citizenship even more than others due to the fact that his parents knew the difference of the freedom and opportunity they have living in this country.
Marco Rubio has a great future, and I foresee him not only as a U.S. senator but as a possible U.S. president.
"And so now I know that every chance I have ever had and everything that I will ever accomplish, I owe to God, to my parents' sacrifices, and to the United States of America." - Marco Rubio
